Linear electric motor
10 - 50 A/mm² | LM50, LM50M ITK Dr. Kassen

Iron-free linear motors have been produced until now by an arrangement of wound air-core coils of copper wire. ITK has developed a novel structure to generate power with current flow. We use a specific arrangement of copper surfaces instead of copper wire, to generate feed force. We have developed motors that convince with their technical data and eclipse present technology, using a specific computer program - developed by ITK - and a FEM-analysis of the magnetic arrangement.

Due to the specific topology of the current-carrying conductors, heat is transported better as hitherto to the mounting parts and therefore the thermal resistance is reduced considerably. With the same installation size it is now possible to load the coil with more current, but thereby, the maximum temperature is not exceeded. That means more power with an equal installation size.

The reduction of the inductance of the coil at equal ohmic resistance allows a three to five times faster rising of current compared to traditional technology. The drive is thereby considerably more dynamic.

The customized development of linear motors is now cost-saving. Due to the new computer program, particular geometries and installation dimensions can be considered. The characteristic values are calculated directly and are adjustable to the application.

Beside the LM50-series exists now the LM50 M-series. Therefor, the geometrical dimensions have been modified slightly, to facilitate the constructional application and to achieve an easier scalability. With it, the calculation of the travel length or rather the length of the magnetic rail, has been simplified.
