Semiconductor sensors are less sensitive to catalytic poisons like silicones, tetraethyl lead or heavy metals than pellistors, but more sensitive to changings in air pressure, relative humidity or ambient temperature.
They have a longer expected life time than pellistors, however, they measure less acurately.
