High power direct-diode laser (HPDDL)
200 W, 940 nm
JDSU
Direct-Diode Laser Products
JDSU’s direct-diode laser products provide up to 200 watts of multimode output with 400 µm or 600 µm fiber delivery. Combining our highly reliable L4 single-emitter diode lasers with a fused-fiber architecture and novel system health monitoring system yields an extremely reliable product designed to withstand the rigors of 24-7 industrial manufacturing environments.
Unlike bar-based diode-laser products, JDSU’s individual-emitter architecture offers exceptional thermal isolation between emitters preventing the severe thermal reliability issues otherwise encountered.
Designed for ease of integration and operation, JDSU’s direct diode products are internally air-cooled, only requiring standard wall-plug power. System control is available through analog or RS232 ports. An industry-standard SMA905 optical connector allows quick connection with commercially available beam-delivery optical packages, or an optional focusing termination module is available through JDSU providing a top-hat beam profile with unprecedented uniformity at a working distance of 85 mm.
A multipoint monitoring system incorporates a system-wide approach to health monitoring including individual diode output status and critical electrical and environmental parameters. The routinely updated system health log file is available through the front-panel mounted USB port for easy retrieval and review. Active health reporting takes place through RS-232 interface and front-panel mounted visual indicators. Careful management of any soft system-errors allows operators time to correct electrical or environmental issues while the device remains online and operational.
