Integrated optical light modulator

The integrated optical light modulators utilize the fast electro-optical response of photonic crystals for fast amplitude and phase modulation of laser light in the visible and the infrared spectrum. High modulation frequencies and low modulation voltages characterize the compact modulators.
Optical coupling is realized by different optional waveguide types. On request the modulators can be combined with specially adapted controllers or analog amplifiers.

Liquid Crystal Spatial Light Modulators
Liquid crystal modulators are excellently suited to achieve a defined modulation setting in terms of amplitude, phase, polarization based on the principle of the electrically controllable birefringence o a nematic liquid crystal layer.
The Optical Systems division has the necessary high degree of experience to live up to the most exacting customer requirements.
Besides our standard light modulators, we offer the development and manufacture of custom-made light modulators on base of nematic liquid crystals with the associated electronics.
