Microlens arrays are solutions for applications where there is a need for accurate alignment, small size, and packaging cost reduction. Jenoptik can design and manufacture microlens arrays using gray scale technology, attaining higher uniformity and fill factors not possible with reflow or binary optics thinning.
The shape of these microlens arrays can be square, hexagonal, circular, or cylindrical and can be square- or hex-packed. Spherical, aspherical, off-center or truncated lenses can be made on one side with absolute alignment accuracies which allow each lens to be within 0.25 microns of its ideal location. Our front to back surface alignment capabilities allow lenses on both sides of a substrate to be aligned to within one micron.
