The computer controlled weld head performs precise welding on jet engine components. The Jetstar II Computer Controller allows the operator to program and control most parameters of the weld procedure to insure accurate and precise welding. The system has been designed to perform welding on the HPC Inner Shroud assembly, the HP Turbine Disc, and the IP OGV assembly. The system is now performing welds on other key components as well.
The equipment includes the Jetstar Computer Controller with full feature remote pendant, an Arc Length Control, a CWF-23 Dabber-type wire feeder, a computer controlled motorized slide, a VMS Video Arc Monitoring System, a WHL-4C Weld Head Locator, and an FMP-1500 Positioner.
