This system is used to weld hydraulic, fuel, and fluid parts in the aerospace industry. Precise control of the GTAW process on 6061 AL, 304 and 316 stainless, and Inconel parts is an absolute requirement. Weld quality is achieved via a combination of fixturing and tooling coupled to the microprocessor weld parameter control. The fixture and tooling include a pneumatic clamping rotary head for the parts and a weld head locator to move torch and wire drives to the weld point.
The Jetstar computer weld control provides accurate and repeatable parameters for current, arc voltage, wire feed speed, travel speed, and torch gas flow via closed loop feedback. An additional benefit of the Jetstar Control is the capability to provide data acquisition in a format determined by the customer. Further enhancements to this system are the VMS video monitoring system for remote viewing of the weld pool and an LCD computer screen operator pendant for remote control of the welding parameters.
