UNIONs shuttle storage system is designed to overcome the problems involving different limitations by the length of the storage lane. It has ability to store numerous pallets within a system that can operate to bigger depths.
The guide/support rails are included within the racking system. These rails can run the depth of the rack construction on which an shuttle travels automatically.
The pallets begin their travel on a shuttle at the front of the lane. The shuttle transports these pallets down to the other end of the machine. The position of previous pallets can be detected via in-built sensors on the shuttle. The shuttle can also place the new load at a predetermined distance from previous pallet, before returning to the start face.
The radio remote controller is installed for collecting data of the shuttle movements. The data allows the forklift truck and driver to be available for other tasks while the shuttle works. The shuttle is simply moved among lanes by a standard fork lift truck.
