The Type 8600 High Duty Seal Range is the latest generation of high duty seals to be developed by John Crane. It encompasses all of the strengths and benefits which John Crane high duty seals have demonstrated over the last 30 years, and combines these with the latest advances in materials, surface texturing techniques and analytical and test capability. The net result is the most advanced high-duty seal yet, capable of operating at over 200bar and speeds in excess of 50m/s.

Leveraging on the excellent track record and know-how from the 8BVS and RREP seals, the T8600 has been developed with the objective of providing the highest reliability in the most extreme conditions to achieve the ever-increasing pump availability required by our customers. As such, it is intended to be the John Crane 'standard' High Duty Seal for the end user market. It has been developed to operate over a wide range of services without the need for special analysis or design changes. Likewise, the design lends itself to relatively simple machining operations, particularly those within the adaptive hardware, which is likely to be manufactured locally to the customer. This should allow those areas not normally associated with high duty sealing to exploit it's potential.
