A400 series batteries are sealed, stationary OGiV batteries. The use of gel as an electrolyte means that the A400 batteries are less sensitive to temperature than batteries based on AGM technology. This is because the chemical processes inside the battery occur at a slower rate than those in batteries containing liquid electrolyte. This is a very effective means to achieve a longer battery life.
