It leverages several proven continuous miner designs including the Optidrive traction system, latest crawler chain, gathering gearcases and conveyor system technology. The 14BU27 gathering arm loader, with up to 36 tonnes/minute (39.7 tons/minute) capacity, is designed as a utility machine for use in both production and auxiliary activities allowing great flexibility for your individual mine requirements. Traction system The 14BU27 includes our OptiDrive AC traction system, which is coupled to a compact, all-gear transmission to provide smooth, reliable service. The cutter motor feedback and the traction differential features optimize sump performance even in the most demanding applications. Finally, the brushless AC traction motors are highly reliable and require minimal maintenance.
