Pierce-nut stamping module
KALLER
General description
The pierce-nut stamping process is integrated to the sheet metal stamping line. Pierce-nuts offer significant savings in time and costs over weld-nuts that are installed outside the stamping line. However, pierce-nut stamping requires a good installation to ensure optimal performance.Kaller's Pierce-Nut Head Module offers a patented solution to fasten nuts to the panel. The Pierce-Nut Head Module is powered by nitrogen gas, providing considerable advantages over traditional in-die pierce-nut heads. By controlling the gas pressure in the Pierce-Nut Head, the setting force of the pierce-nut can be controlled and will be constant regardless of material tolerances. The pierce-nuts are fed into the Pierce-Nut Head via a feeder hose, into the Nut Inlet. When the Pierce-Nut Head is in its open position, one pierce-nut is pushed into position, ready to be fastened to the panel. The press moves down and the pierce-nut is pushed through the Extension to meet the panel.
