GPB180D Ideal for Industrial and Utility users requiring from 16 to 18 Mw's with significant thermal loads who require a "Green Engine" with reduced emissions and high efficiency for fuel savings. Our GPB180D unit has best overall heat rate in its class, CHP operation can boost total thermal efficiency to 82%. This engine is also offered in "non-DLE configuration for operations in areas that do not require reduced engine emissions. Kawasaki's GPB180D packaged power plant uses our heavy duty L20A GT engine, and offers simple cycle electrical efficiency of 33.5% and an overall Cogeneration thermal efficiency of 82%. It is well suited for use in base loaded industrial process plant applications, Hospitals, Universities/ colleges , Shopping malls and large office complexes that incorporate district heating and cooling CHP loads , pharmaceuticals, LNG Terminals, electric utilities, municipal subway and electric rail systems, oil field and mining site power, and other facilities with significant thermal and electrical loads. The design of the GPB180D is a scaled up version of our M7A GT engine used in our highly reliable and successful GPB70D packages. This further assures high reliability and availability in the 97% to 98% range.
