Shanks out of the h6 tolerance, as for example taps, can now be clamped safely in shrink fit chucks as well. To cover larger tolerances, the shrink fit chuck is slotted at the shrink fit.
This makes the application more flexible with regard to the clamping diameter and the material to be clamped. From h6 to h9 all shank diameters of steel, HSS or ceramics can be clamped. The tool is clamped by a sleeve shrunk over it. Thus the transferable torque, the stiffness as well as the concentricity are considerably better compared with usual holders.
Also shank diameters smaller than 6 mm are no problem for the i-tec®SLOTT technology independent of their shank material.
