Cloud point detector
Kittiwake
Kittiwake's Cloud Point Detectors / Analyzers are automatic devices, used for detecting the temperature at which wax crystals form in a translucent oil sample. This causes the oil to become cloudy in appearance, hence the term "cloud point detector / tester". The measurement of cloud point is of significant importance to industry, particularly in climates with low ambient temperatures. If the temperature drops below the cloud point, wax crystals forming in the fuel may block filters and cause fuel delivery problems.
This Cloud Point Detector / Analyzer operates by cooling an oil sample and monitoring the intensity of light transmitted through it. The unit allows cloud point tests to be carried out before accepting the fuel and a normal test takes less than 10 minutes.
