The ruby laser was the first ever laser to produce visible light back in 1960 and heralded the genesis of the laser industry. However, whilst ruby lasers generate a useful and popular wavelength it has hitherto had limited use due to the fact that this wavelength (694.3nm) has only been available from large pulsed systems. These have been expensive to purchase and costly to maintain whilst the pulsed nature of the laser generation limits its application opportunities. The new CRESCENDO laser from KLASTECH uniquely offers a CW ruby source from a compact DPSS design. Built on the proprietary DENICAFC platform this laser offers true single frequency output (<1MHz line width) with the highest optical beam qualities and stability including diffraction limited beam divergence.
