A Cube polarisers is a variant of the cube beam splitter. The special feature of a cube polariser is that the two beams are split according to their state of polarisation. Thus the two output beams differ simply in their state of polarisation.These cube polarisers can be supplied with high performance AR coatings on all input and output faces.When working with polarised light, for example most laser beams, one interesting use of these cubes is in conjunction with a half wave plate. The half wave plate can be rotated which will in turn rotate the plane of polarisation of the light falling onto the cube. The splitter ratio of the cube will therefore depend on the rotation angle of the wave plate. This can be used to balance two beams, for example in an interferometer, or as a variable attenuator.These cube beamsplitters can be supplied mounted on a clevis for access to all faces.
