Spring Applied Hydraulic Released Floating Calipers (SAHR) Floating Calipers are ideally suited for use as parking and emergency brakes positioned on the drive shaft or gear box output. These brakes function as fail-safe brakes. Under normal operating conditions, the brake is released by continious fluid pressure. A drop in this release pressure - due to actuation of the brake valve, or failure of the pressure-supply system - initiates an integrated spring for safe braking operation.
