Komax Systems has been designing and manufacturing specialized Shell and Tube heat exchangers that incorporate Komax static mixers for the plastic and rubber industries for 20 years. These advanced heat exchangers heat products with viscosities of over ten-million centipoise. Our patented tube side mixing elements dramatically improve heat transfer and eliminate thermal damage to the product.

Over the last three years Komax perfected a special non-plugging, low pressure drop static mixer design for low viscosity products that are less than one hundred centipoise.

In the Komax heat exchangers, heat transfer improvements of up to 300% have been documented resulting in reducing the heat exchanger size by two thirds. The static mixer turbulence on the piping wall provides a self cleaning action since the velocity at the pipe wall is no longer zero. Komax shell and tube heat exchangers are offered in standard piping materials as well as exotic alloys that resist highly corrosive liquids.
