Many variable beamwidth professional antennas force the user to gain access to the radome enclosure in order to make adjustments. The process is time consuming and makes testing cumbersome. Field disassembly of any high performance sector antenna also increases the risk of improper reassembly and the introduction of moisture or contaminants.
Adjustments are made to the antenna using a locking adjustment mechanism that is accessed without having to disassemble the antenna.
