Cold light mirror
Laser Components
For some applications heat permeable mirrors (cold light mirrors) are used instead of heat reflecting mirrors, particularly when better dissipation of infrared radiation through transmission is required. The infrared radiation is transmitted at a wavelength of 800 nm at an average of 80-90%.
Heat reflecting mirrors (hot mirrors) are used to reflect the heat (infrared) of a radiation source, not to absorb it. The dissipation of infrared radiation through reflection facilitates the handling of heat sensitive articles while radiation in the visible range is simultaneously allowed to pass freely.
