Automated 3D laser scanner
Laser Design
The system features a rotating SLP-2000 laser probe with a line length of 200 mm and a fixture mounted to a precision rotary stage that holds the shoe sole or other type of part. The SLP-2000 laser beam is swept from left to right over the part. Then the part is repositioned by the rotary stage and another scan pass is taken.
Laser Design's Surveyor Scan Control (SSC) handles all motion control and merges the scan data from the multiple orientations into a 3D point cloud with a common coordinate system. The entire process takes just minutes and is very accurate. You can even flip the part over and scan the reverse side since SSC will automatically merge the two data sets.
