Boring head
Laser Mechanisms
Boring Heads and Trepanners provide an effective means for creating round cuts and welds of small to large diameters. Boring Heads create circles optically utilizing a pair of offset rotating wedges, while Trepanning Heads mechanically rotate the focusing lens. In an optical boring head, hole sizes are changed by adjusting the separation distance of the wedges. These devices can be manually set to a particular diameter, or can be automatically programmed to change diameters. Boring Heads can produce circles that are more perfectly round than can be produced by moving a part (or a laser head) in an interpolated X-Y motion. They can also produce these holes much faster, particularly in smaller diameters. Laser Mechanisms' Boring Heads and Trepanners can be used with either YAG or CO2 lasers.
