Parabolic Welding Heads are designed for especially robust and/or specialized high-power CO2 laser welding applications. The Parabolic Welding Heads use a reflective mirror to focus the laser beam instead a transmissive lens. These mirrors provide increased durability and performance - particularly with higher power lasers and harsh working environments. Parabolic mirrors are made of highly polished copper which is easily cleaned. Parabolic mirrors can also be fabricated for specialized applications to focus the beam into multiple spots or lines. The mirrors are water-cooled. Some assemblies include an interlock switch to further protect against excessive heat build-up from the process. All models also include an air knife to protect the mirror from debris. Many models include a swivel plate that allows the head to be positioned at various angles.
