Motor springs can be used in place of torsion spring when there is several turns from a torsion spring being required. These motor springs come with a torsion spring design that is unique. They are locked to a shaft by means of a catch, and even to a pin or housing edge. They are able to produce about 10-20 turns of spring force by virtue of this design. If more torque is needed, then several motor springs need to be used and placed next to each other.
