Ball mill
Lessines Industries
The ball mills are very largely used in all the branches of industry for the fine crushing of various products.
Crushing is produced by balls which are with the product in a rotary drum. The effect of crushing is more or less great according to the mode of the drum, it is produced by the shock which results from the fall of the bodies of crushing on the product to crush and by friction between the product and the bodies of crushing. An optimal use of the effect of fall and friction is established when the mode is equal to 75% of the critical mode.
The degree of filling by balls is approximately 35% of the volume of the drum; the effect of crushing is optimal when the degree of filling by the product is of 70-100% of free space between the balls.
Principle of operation:
- Control of the smoothness which is function of the duration of the stay of the matter in the apparatus.
- The quality of the grinding elements can be adapted to the matter as well as the coating.
- Flexibility in use: one can pass quickly from a matter to another.
- Possibilities of ventilation, heating, cooling. The temperature of the matter can be thus maintained within strict limits.
- Reduced Investment: is appropriate perfectly for the fields of application where the treated quantities are relatively not very important.
