LINK thermocouples are designed for brake testing applications. They will measure the temperature from brake hardware such as rotors, pads, and drums. Thermocouples are a valuable temperature sensing tool which are used to measure voltage generated at the junction of two dissimilar metal wires. They are highly sensitive to small temperature changes and very accurate.

Choose 20 gage wire for a faster response time. Using 24 gage wire will provide a longer service life, but it will have a slower response time as well.

Both Kapton and fiberglass have good flexibility, but Kapton is superior when it comes to moisture resistance and abrasion resistance. Fiberglass has a higher temperature rating for continuous or single readings. Type K thermocouples have a temperature range of 0-1250° C and type J have a range of 0-750° C.
