Delamination free trimming
with LMT Onsrud DFC Compression Mill
The technical challenge in machining carbonfibre
compounds is to avoid delamination,
overheating (resin burn) and chunking of fibres
at the workpiece edge. The economical
challenge is to achieve a competitive tool life
in highly abrasive materials.
The new Compression Mill is specially
dedicated to high-speed machining of
carbon fibre reinforced resins like trimming
of automotive structural components or
aerospace panels.
