Double Shield TBM - A Cat Double Shield TBM consists of a Cuttinghead, Forward Shell, Telescopic Shield (Inner and Outer), Gripper Shield and a Trailing Shield. The Double Shield is specifically designed for excavating rock with fractured zones where a primary lining is required. In competent rock it is capable of simultaneous excavation and segment erection.
