Description

The WaveReady WRM-8008 is a multiservice, multiport OTN standard based muxponder which can transparently aggregate up to eight client signals in an OTU2 signal. Implementing industry standards OTN mapping, the WRM-8008 enables a flexible and efficient aggregation of multiple services over a single 10 Gbps wavelength. Features Up to eight client signals into OTN standard based OTU2 containers Support for ODU0 mapping on client signals Supports standard and enhanced Forward Error Correction for improved performance and reach (FEC) Built-in remote Ethernet based management channel Performance monitoring statistics on both client and line interfaces Supports pluggable tunable XFP transceivers on line interfaces Supports flexible pluggable SFP interfaces and client interfaces Benefits Simplified network deployment through an embedded management channel for management of remote modules. Self configuring attributes simplifies and accelerates service turn up and time to revenue. Standard based OTN implementation helps ensure multivendor interoperability in metro aggregation networks. Simplified sparing and inventory management through support of pluggable transceivers on client and line interfaces, enabling maximum flexibility. Fully utilize network capacity through sub-wavelength aggregation, deferring costly network upgrades. Improve shelf utilization, improve equipment reliability, reduce sparing costs by multiplexing multiple signal rates and protocols with a single card, avoiding the need for multiple module types
