Description

LYTRON brazed-plate heat exchangers having compact design deliver performance and reliability in liquid-to-liquid heat transfer. Its efficiency lies in the herringbone construction that allows maximum heat transfer along with its brazed plate that is constructed from rugged stainless steel sheets brazed together at the edges and at a matrix of contact points. It is compatible for wide range of fluids such as copper-brazed for water, EGW, and other common coolants, or nickel-brazed for high purity and other corrosive coolants. It is 80-90% smaller in volume and weight than a conventional shell-and-tube design. Its design of steel sheets stamped with a herringbone pattern of grooves, stacked in alternating directions supports flow channels for the two liquid streams. It permits 90% of the material to be used for heat transfer with high operating temperatures and pressure of 383°F (195°C) and 450 psig (31 bar) for copper brazed units and 662°F (350°C) and 232 psig (16 bar) for nickel-brazed units.
