FERRITE
Ferrite has been available since the 1950's and is the most commonly used permanent magnetic material due to its low cost. It is not easily demagnetised and as manufactured from oxides will not rust.

Typical maximum operating temperature in non dynamic applications is 300 degrees C. Can be magnetised in preferred direction only. (Except isotropic magnets which can be magnetised in any direction).
