Fabric impregnation machine
max. 60" (1 500 mm) Magnum Venus

  • fabric impregnation machine max. 60
Equipment for the controlled wet out impregnation of fabric sheet or roll good materials. Material is dispensed directly into mold from overhead crane.

This machine is designed to process woven roving, stitch mat and/or fiberglass cloth with catalyzed polyester resin, metering the resin-to-glass ratio and depositing this material on a flat or hull surface (either male or female mold style). This style Impregnator would be used to make up bulkheads, decking and other flat sheets used to build a composite ship as well as the hull itself.

The impregnator can handle glass roll goods up to 60 inch wide. A pair of nip rollers with an adjustable gap controls resin content. The impregnator is capable of producing laminates with glass content up to 55 percent by weight (depending on materials). Use of the Impregnator reduces the amount of resin and fiberglass used. In addition, styrene fuming is far less when using the Impregnator, as the resin is simply poured into the machine from the mix head.

Impregnator Controls: All impregnator controls are mounted at the side of the impregnator. Controls include auto level activation, feed direction and speed, resin activation, solvent application, etc.

Bridge Crane Mounted Units: The machine can move along the length and across the width of the mold. In addition, with its Carriage Ring Assembly, it also may swivel 360 degrees. This permits cloth to be laid on length, width and bias of the mold surface.
