n 1990 MAN Diesel & Turbo pioneered this ground breaking technology in the HOFIMTM and MOPICO®. By eliminating components such as Dry Gas Seals, Lube Oil System and Gearbox, the HOFIMTM compressor package features the use of high-speed induction motor. This driver is cooled by process gas and directly coupled to the barrel type compressor. Both run on magnetic bearings. Depending on the flow and pressure conditions to be processed, the HOFIMTM include either a single or a tandem configuration specific to the oil & gas industry.
