High precision 3-axis CNC vertical machining center MANDELLI

The Storm machining centers - with the Storm 1100, Storm 1400, Storm 1900 and Storm 2500 ranges, along with the Storm 940 and Storm 1250 versions with tilting table - are characterised by their considerable robustness and flexibility and have been designed for heavy machining on medium/large sized workpieces.

Excellent results in terms of accuracy and efficiency in any type of environment are guaranteed by the following features :

- the machine structure is thermally stabilised;
- static and dynamic functioning, even under the most demanding working conditions, is optimised through Finite Element Analysis;
- the prismatic guides make use of a hybrid sliding system: roller slides for static load support with low friction and turcite slides on grinded guides in hardened steel for best vibration damping;
- all the guides are carefully isolated from hot swarf to avoid thermal distortion;
- the Y vertical axis is balanced through a closed loop hydraulic system;
- the direct measuring system is based on pressurised optic scales.

Modularity and expandability permit the creation of a customised product, which can be integrated in flexible cells and production systems for non-supervised machining.
