Continuous inkjet coding marking machine (CIJ)
Matthews International
These printers work by propelling a continuous stream of ink through a nozzle. This stream is broken down into identical droplets at a rate of up to 120,000 per second. These droplets are selectively charged and deflected to print dot matrix characters. Undeflected drops are recirculated.
All CIJ printers use the same basic technology, but they are not the same in terms of design. It is the Matthews CIJ design that makes the difference in performance and reliability. Before you buy a continuous ink-jet printer look at the printhead.
Our printhead is the cleanest, simplest and most durable design you can buy. Complicated printheads damage easily; the pipes carrying ink and solvent and the electrical cabling and circuitry are hermetically sealed inside the Jet-A-Mark printhead. This makes it more robust for everyday operation. The nozzle and gutter are solidly mounted so they cannot easily be knocked out of alignment. And a positive air option prevents airborne particles from entering the printhead and contaminating the ink.
