Rapid prototyping machine by laser sintering
MCP Rapid Tooling Technologies
The parts or especially tools are built layer-by-layer (30 m thickness) known from other rapid prototyping methods.
In the process the used metal powder (e.g. stainless steel 1.4404) is locally melted by an intensive infrared laser beam that traces the layer geometry.
It is possible to build the finest details like thin vertical walls of less than 100 m tickness. Directly after the production process the manufactured parts or tools show a surface roughness of approx. 10-30 m for Rz.
