Cryogenic ball valve
MECA-INOX
Applications - the fluids in question
Cleaning, deep-freezing and cooling involve cryogenic technology based on nitrogen, oxygen or other gasses.
Therefore, valves that can perform at very low temperatures (-196° C / -320° F) are a must.
Possible solutions
Materials and seat design
A special type of PTFE is used that ensures excellent mechanical resistance and stable torque at low temperatures. Furthermore, it allows proportionate motorization in relation to the valve size.
Cryogenic stem extension
The satisfactory internal volume required to create an efficient gas buffer prevents the packing gland from gaining in mass and so prevents it from blocking the valve.
It is manufactured as a one-piece item with stem for increased mechanical resistance.
The ball has an optimal drive surface and prevents the stem from scraping in the ball.
Decompressing the chamber
Vent hole in the ball remove the risk of an excess pressure build-up in the body.
Identifying the direction of flow
An arrow on the body prevents any possible assembly errors.
