The High-Resolution Standard Proximity Sensor, or HRSPS, is a contact-less eddy current displacement measuring system. The unit is applicable for high-reliability satellite applications.
The device is also available in an 883B flight version, for micro-gravity and the International Space Station (ISS). It has three various sensor sizes available, which encompass three measuring ranges up to 9 mm or 0.35 mm.
The unit provides either 2 independent, single or 1 differential output(s) with a resolution of 1 nanometer. It has diameter sizes of ø 5 - 18 mm and 0.5 - 6 mm. Its temperature range of -55°C to 70°C is for standard space flight, but the sensors are applicable for operation to -150°C or -238°F.
The accuracy figures of the sensors are 1.7 million hours for ISS operations, and 2.5 million hours for the satellite version.
