The Milli-Q Direct system is designed to provide scientists with pure and ultra pure water using a two stage process. First, tap water is processed using reverse osmosis (RO) (via Merck Millipore, designed and optimized techniques) in order to create Type 3 pure water, that is then stored inside a safety tank, minimizing risk of contamination. The second stage involves further purifying the water, creating Type 1 ultra pure water. The level sensor installed inside the tank, allows automatic control of water production, according to user specifications, providing process information via systems screen (showing information on the tank's water level), while safety system ensure there is no overflow or dry running. The water contained in the reservoir can be sourced using a front valve or fed to instruments (such as a glassware washing machine) via delivery pump.
