EDM Drilling is used to achieve very fine holes without any burrs or deformations. With the new FD20, Mitsubishi Electric offers a perfect completion to its well-known EDM systems, with a machine mostly used for preparation of wire EDM workpieces. The FD20 is very efficient, especially with hardened materials, e.g. Tungsten Carbide. Various applications are included, like flushing holes in copper electrodes, cooling holes in hardened materials, drilling of blind holes, drillings with a taper angle or with workpiece areas which are difficult to reach.
