AGV - Automatic Guided Vehicle Modula

Automatic Guided Vehicle are vehicles designed for the handling of goods and products inside a factory, utilizing a variety of machines connected internally of the warehouse area. They moves independently and automatically, without operator or for fixed tracks in the floor, guaranteeing a notably high degree of flexibility.
Vehicles can dialogue with other robots or automation systems to the end of ensuring that the product is handled smoothly in the warehouse, or stored for future use, or placed directly in the despatch area ready for shipment.
Vehicles are available in many models: fork lift, roller, flatbed, for handling heavy vehicles, manoeuvring roller boxes and/or storage shelves, handling pallets in end-of-line departments, as well as stainless steel models for use in food-safe environments.
They can be
Laser: with the aid of reflecting surfaces located along the route, at various points of the installation, vehicles are able to check their position and trajectory continuously by means of the laser head. Each vehicle is equipped with a single laser head, rotatable through 360°, which scans the entire surrounding area.The laser beam strikes the reflectors, detecting the direction from which the reflection comes, thereby allowing the on-board computer to calculate the position of the AGV and guide it along prescribed routes.
Magnetic: the vehicle follows small permanent magnets (spots) embedded in the floor;
Multi-navigation: this is used when, for various reasons, a laser guidance system needs to be combined with a second system (e.g. Magnetic). Vehicles will use the system best suited to the part of the installation where they happen to be operating.
