The introduction of the new Circular Ruggedized Push/Pull (CRP2) 8-Pole Connector from Molex follows the market need for industrial connectors in small build size and high density. The CRP2 Connector design is based on the same connector interface size of the Brad® M8 connector family. The new design has improvements in keying and mis-mating protection and features up to 8 circuits in a small 14mm-diameter (.551") overall footprint. The metal housing is IP67-rated for harsh-environment applications and the push/pull locking mechanism provides easy mating and unmating. Initially designed for radio handheld devices, the connector supports a broad field of applications in industrial and harsh environments.
The rugged construction of this connector means the connector can withstand up to 21-lbs in torque and 30-lbs pull force without damage. The connector is also able to withstand up to 5,000 mating cycles, making it suitable for applications where multiple connection cycles are required. The connector is available as a female, front-mount, push/pull receptacle with PCB pins and a mating male push/pull cable connector with solder pins and overmold.
