The J3-a adds an embedded antenna and built-in micro battery to the high performance GPS receiver module featuring the proven technology of the Jupiter 3 series from Navman Wireless. Both antenna and receiver functions are fully integrated, eliminating the need for an external RF antenna.
Jupiter Solutions has enhanced the architecture of the Jupiter3 module by adding carefully selected key components including active antenna, LNA, LDO and driver to comprise the J3-A. This ensures frequency stability, optimized sensitivity at chipset level down to -159 dBm, lower power consumption and a faster TTFF (Time To First Fix).
By providing the optional on-board micro-battery, the J3-A allows rapid satellite acquisition times by preserving system data in SRAM and the power to the RTC section of the Jupiter3 module
