Plunger screw injection
The plunger screw injection unit has specific features for moulding thermosetting materials: a high pressure hydraulic system, together with generously-sized mechanical parts, allows both high injection flow rates and high injection pressures.
The radial-piston hydraulic motor guarantee high torque at all screw rotation speeds. Special hardening as well as bimetallic treatment of screws and barrels ensure long life even when functioning at high pressure. Injection cylinder thermoregulation is of the diathermic oil or water type with two independent control zones, while the plasticising screw is thermo-regulated by the fluid that flows through its interior: this last feature ensures highly accurate temperature control of the material.
A quick-release nozzle ensures easy maintainance of the plasticizing unit, which can itself be changed rapidly to allow a fast switch from thermoplastic to thermoset moulding.
