Ceramic protective coating for solid oxide fuel cell

NexTech's coating technology extends the life of stainless steel interconnects in SOFC stacks, while reducing chromium volatilization and reducing contact resistance. NexTech's core technology has been developed and evaluated on components as large 1200 cm2 and including in stack tests at the 2 kW scale. Leveraging technology licensed from Ceramic Fuel Cells Limited, NexTech's has refined materials synthesis, process throughput and manufacturing economics to transition the technology from the laboratory to the production floor. NexTech has demonstrated the coating process on a range of high-chrome ferritic steel alloys as well as other high-chrome alloys. Coordinating with clients, NexTech will coat demonstration quantities of customer interconnects to provide proof of concept, optimizing deposition and annealing cycles. After successful demonstration, we work with clients to provide both process technology transfer and an ongoing supply of coating suspensions. Our coating team will also provide production capacity to bridge the technology transfer period, mitigating risk and accelerating adoption.
