NICOMATIC has developed small pitch SMT connectors under its Micro-Miniature Connectors series CMM100 (02 to 25 ways in one row) and CMM200 (04 to 50 ways in two rows). They are available with low frequency signal contacts (LF).

Latched connectors in straight (T) and right angle (R: New 2010!) version are perfectly adapted for an excellent mechanical flat hold onto the PCB. The tape & Reel packaging is available.

The SMT latch (LS) leads to substantial production cost reduction on electronic modules as it is no longer necessary to use the strain relief strap to fix to PCB boards (no holes necessary). The latch is made of nickel plated beryllium copper to allow a high quality mechanical locking system and to allow PCB soldering at the vapour/reflow phase.
The SMT latch is often used in board-to-wire interconnection systems where a connector is fixed to female housings on cable. As for all the CMM connector series the insulator is a fibreglass filled thermoplastic rated UL94V0. It offers high performance by holding up to 260°C. The chamfer authorizes a natural polarization and the latch offers a highly secured interconnection possibility: locking of the connector, female pin on cable inside male base on PCB. Male straight and right angle contacts are made of gold plated copper alloy.

The connectors are marked LS at the end of the part number. A male connector on two rows in straight version with a SMT latch and 22 LF contacts is 201T22LS and the same in a 90° version is 201R22LS. The CMM connector with a SMT latch is perfectly suited for space-saving applications!
