These safety couplings are used for mechanical protection of drive units for decades. These flexible and backlash-free safety couplings are a combination of metal belows coupling and disengagement mechanism. The flexible, however, torsionally stiff metal bellows compensate misalignment between drive shaft and output shaft, with low restoring forces. Main characteristics of this coupling are the low moment of inertia and an absolut conformal torque transfer because of the very high torsional stiffness.
Assembly:
The seat shaft / hub is to be selected as transitional seat. Admissible seat clearance shaft / hub: min. 0.01 mm; max. 0.04 mm. E.g.
shaft: Ø 28 k6
hub: Ø 28 F6.
Hub boreholes which are smaller than D min. are possible; but an optimal transfer of the nominal torque of the coupling can not be guaranteed in this case.
