Cast products have burrs on the sprue, gate, and mold mating parts, and if these are not removed before the product is machined, the after-process machining cannot be smoothly executed. Accordingly, various types of grinders are used at the foundry to deburr mass-manufactured cylinder blocks, cylinder heads, camshafts, and other engine parts.
This grinder efficiently removes burrs and gate marks produced in automobile cylinder blocks made of cast iron. Equipped with an automatic pallet phase changeover function, this machine can grind 9 types of cylinder blocks for 4 vehicle types. The cylinder block conveyed into the machine is ground on two sides at the same time (the front and rear surfaces and the head and oil pan surfaces) by means of two grinding units conveyed into the machine. After grinding is completed, the cylinder block is carried out by a loader. What is more, the grinding units have a grinding wheel wear correcting function that corrects the grinding dimensions according to the grinding wheel wear.
