Maintenance free ball bearing with solid lubrication
NTN-SNR

Bearings with solid grease incorporate a special grease which solidifies after injection into the bearings.
- No maintenance: this type of bearing solves maintenance problems when the bearings are inaccessible.
- Contamination by dust and water: conventional greases have a tendency to absorb humidity and dust, which reduces bearing performance. Bearings with solid grease resist this type of attack.
- Grease leaks: with the lubricant being in a solid state, grease leaks are non-existent and oil leaks are very small
- Centrifugal force and vibration: in applications where bearings are subject to centrifugal forces and/or vibration, conventional greases have a tendency to leak, causing the premature failure of bearings. The solid mass which forms the lubricant gives it excellent resistance to centrifugal forces and makes it possible to supply the bearing with the quantity of oil required for correct operation.
- Start-up torque: unlike conventional grease lubrication, bearings with solid grease have a low starting torque at ambient temperature.
